Gina lectures at a new hippotherapy facility

In Saudi Arabia

At the beginning of this month I spend 10 days in Saudi Arabia teaching therapists about the use of horses in their medical practice at Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Humanitarian City. The hospital was completing construction on a new hippotherapy facility and six horses had been moved in for the course. 17 therapists attended the course and a PT colleague of mine presented a lecture to the hospital administration and staff. The horses used for therapy included retired showjumpers and race horses and I provided education on the needs of horses that are trained to work in the discipline of hippotherapy. During our trip, we were able to see one of the Princess' stables, downtown Riyadh and go off-roading to hike to the "edge of the world". It was an amazing trip! For anyone who would like the complete trip report with videos and more- drop me your email address at:http://eponatherapyservices.com/hippotherapy-around-the-world/

Christy's latest project

Ruby in the Sky

Toy Box Farm’s youngest equine, Ruby in the Sky With Diamonds. Recently made her horse show debut. Three year old Ruby competed in the United States Eventing Association’s Future Event Horse class where she earned a score high enough to qualify for the regional championship. The Future Event Horse program was established to recognize horses that show potential for becoming an advanced level event horse. Horses are judged on conformation and in hand at the walk and trot. Ruby handled the show like a seasoned pro. That’s not surprising since she gets to see her Toy Box friends engaged in so many different activities on a regular basis. The chestnut filly is half Irish Draught with the balance being Dutch warmblood, Oldenburg and thoroughbred.
